This program is launched 2021 in Alberta, Canada and is for producers of hides that wish to sell for a fair price that reflects the quality. This is not a program for large industrial producer, it is geared towards local small scale producers that would like to implement another source of revenue for their sheep, goat or other small livestock operation.

The sliding scale below outlines the pricing that you will be paid per hide & head combo as the brains are used in the tanning process. This program will work seamlessly if your property is licensed for the 'on farm slaughter' program just approved in Alberta. Hides must be handled according to the animal hide handling guidelines PDF Heads must be in tact (small stun or bullet is fine but brains must be held within the skull. Delivery or pickup in central Alberta within 150km of Niton Junction, AB.

Producers can register by emailing us with information on the type of hides you can produce, location of your farm, and how you are able to handle the hides prior to pick up / delivery to the tannery. Your information will be used to assess your suitability for this program and only shared with other local hide buyers that are looking for your hide types produced, with only with your permission. Never shared for any other reason outside of animal hide purchasing.
