About the event

This one day Introduction to Basic Carpentry will have you boasting to your friends that "I made that" as you show off your custom jewelry rack. We will walk through the entire process to create a beautiful and functional finished jewelry rack. You will learn how to design and plan your project on paper, measure and cut your materials, and assemble and stain your project. There will be opportunity for hands on and demonstrations of basic tool use. You will be building your own jewelry rack, with your own hands, with expert guidance, but no carpentry or tool experience is necessary. You will be able to ask questions about any carpentry related concerns or curiosities you have. When you go home after this class, you will have the knowledge and confidence to design your own small project and the skills to complete it.

Safety matters will be discussed throughout the class as they come up, however the Introduction to Carpentry Safety video, attached to your waiver package, is mandatory before attending the class. You will be able to ask for any clarification on the Safety Information before the class commences.

On the day of class you will need to wear snug fitting clothing, no loose and flowing sleeves or pants/skirts, closed toe footwear, and long hair must be secured back.

Tools participants required to bring:
